Circular Dendrogram

Feature update for the Circular Dendrogram extension — new label layouts, geometry and node-sizing models, theme-aware colors, image and background options, and a restructured property panel.

Labels:

• New Outside with lines layout — labels placed beyond the chart and connected by non-crossing leader lines; admission is value-ranked with a per-branch guarantee.
• New Radial layout, now the default for new charts, with radial-aware truncation at the vertical poles.
• Label density slider now applies in all layouts and geometries.
• New Show full labels toggle disables truncation; text may extend into the chart.
• Truncation with “Dimension and value” content shortens the name only — the value is always preserved.
• Outer and inner labels split into independent sections: size, distance, content, and color per family.
• Inner labels gain a collision-aware placement engine with configurable distance from the node (0 = on the node), plus Label density and Show full labels.
• Hovering an outer or inner label shows the node tooltip.

Geometry:

• New Fit to space mode: Stretch to fill renders an ellipse that fills non-square tiles; Keep circular preserves the previous behavior.
• 180° charts anchor the flat side to a selectable wall (Position: Top / Right / Bottom / Left) and fill the cell.
• The 270° arc option was removed from the panel.
• Single-path charts (after filtering) render as a centered line, oriented by tile aspect.

Node sizing:

• New sizing model sizes nodes relative to their siblings; Compare nodes to offers Siblings (default) or Same level.
• New Size contrast slider (0 = uniform … 2 = maximum spread).
• New Cap node size to parent toggle.
• Min/Max node-size sliders stay mutually consistent; contradictory saved values are normalized on load.

Colors:

• Branch colors and the selection color are taken from the active Qlik theme.
• Color by expression for nodes (color code per dimension value).
• Single-color mode adds Use library colors (Custom color / Measure / Dimension): the chart takes its color from a master measure’s or master dimension’s assigned library color, falling back to the color picker when none is set.
• Label text color modes per family: Custom color / Match node color / By expression.
• Connector color (Outside layout): Match node color / Custom color.

Center and images:

• Center image clipped inside the center circle (URL).
• Background image behind the chart with size and opacity controls; positioning fixed for partial-arc layouts.

Branch backgrounds:

• Background tints grouped to match node colors.
• Extend behind labels: the tint extends to cover the outer label band, bounded by the tile.

Selections:

• Selection highlight covers the full clicked path, including outside-label connector lines; unrelated elements dim.
• Calculated (same-value) matches in other branches render dashed, distinct from the clicked path.
• Outer and inner labels are click targets: clicking a label selects its node, the same as clicking the node.
• Clicks are non-destructive and dimension-locked; excluded items are inert.

Grouping:

• Grouping scope is now a named choice: Last dimension only (thins the innermost ring) or All dimensions (groups at every level). Saved charts migrate with no visible change.

Property panel:

• Restructured under Appearance: Layout, Node size, Colors, Outer labels, Inner labels, Center, Grouping.

Performance and compatibility:

• Label-engine paint overhaul; selection changes no longer trigger full repaints.
• Hardening against invalid data (missing measures, extreme values).
