About the app:
Gain rich insight into the volume and value of honey production across the United States of America as officially reported by the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Know which states output the most honey. Instantly figure out and look into increases and declines in their contributions year by year. Focus on certain states or periods at a click by making use of the appropriate filters.
This application features an Advanced Waterfall Chart built with the AnyChart extension for Qlik Sense. The dataset is derived from the publicly available reports on honey production in the United States, provided by the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
Waterfall Chart #1:
- The chart shows honey production, in pounds.
- Data structure: 2 dimensions and 1 measure.
- Only the top five states by honey production are represented (calculated automatically).
- The tooltips are formatted using HTML and display the following details: honey production, its value, price per pound, number of honey bee colonies, yield per colony, and for each of these figures, the difference from the previous year colored in such a way as to make it easy to identify increases and decreases.
- A horizontal reference line marker is used to show the average total yearly production over the displayed time span.
Waterfall Chart #2:
- The chart shows honey production value, in U.S. dollars.
- Data structure: 2 dimensions and 1 measure.
- Only the top five states by honey production value are represented (calculated automatically).
- The tooltips display the same information in the same manner as in Waterfall Chart #1.
- A horizontal reference line marker is used to show the average total yearly production over the displayed time span.

- Filtering by year and state.
